Rural paddock reshaped into botanic garden parkland with lawns, garden beds and an ornamental lake

For rural landowners

Turn a bare paddock into a botanic garden parkland.

Ground Up reshapes tired, wet or unusable rural land into landscaped parkland — lawns, lakes, terraces and gardens — built to a standard that can carry weddings, functions and visitors.

The opportunity

Most rural blocks are one landform away from something remarkable

Low, boggy, eroded or simply flat and featureless land can be reshaped into a property people want to spend time on — and pay to celebrate on.

The single biggest cost in creating parkland is material and machinery. Ground Up receives clean, declared fill from construction projects every day. Where a landowner's plan needs level changes, mounding, lake batters or a raised event lawn, that material can be placed on their property instead of being trucked to landfill.

The result is land that drains properly, holds a lawn, carries vehicles and looks intentional — with a full written record of where every cubic metre came from.

How it happens

Six stages, one contractor

  1. 01

    Walk the land with us

We look at levels, drainage lines, wet spots, access, existing trees and the views worth keeping. No cost, no obligation.

  2. 02

    A landform plan

Mounding, terraces, a lake or dam, an event lawn, garden beds, a walking loop and driveway — set out so water behaves and the land looks natural.

  3. 03

    Reshaping with clean, declared fill

We build the levels using inspected clean fill. Every load is declared at its source, checked at the gate and recorded against your property.

  4. 04

    Drainage, paths and hard landscaping

Subsurface drainage, swales, rock beaching, retaining, gravel paths, driveways, car parking and concrete works.

  5. 05

    Topsoil, turf and planting

Screened topsoil respread, lawns established, native and ornamental garden beds mass-planted, feature trees set.

  6. 06

    A property that earns

Ceremony lawns, function areas, parking and gardens ready for weddings, events, farm-gate businesses or simply a beautiful place to live.

Weddings & functions

Grounds built to hold a crowd, not just look pretty

Event use is an engineering question before it is a landscaping one.

  • Wedding ceremony lawns and reception areas
  • Function, festival and market grounds
  • Botanic-style display gardens and arboretums
  • Ornamental lakes, dams and wetland features
  • Guest parking, entry drives and turning areas
  • Walking loops, boardwalks and viewing points
  • Farm-gate, cellar door and accommodation settings
  • Private parkland estates and family compounds

Ceremony lawns need to drain after rain. Guest parking needs a base that does not rut. Access needs turning room for catering trucks and buses. We build those requirements into the landform from day one, and we can stage the work over several seasons so the property keeps earning.
